Speaking of that tooth that was hanging by a thread at the dentist…
Yes, this IS the tooth the old dentist said would NEVER fall out.
It's # 6 for Sophie.
It was a big ordeal folks. It was bleeding and almost out of her mouth but she wouldn't pull on it and made me sit on the couch while she brushed it out. Then she saw that it was bleeding more and cried and said, "This is the worst day ever!"
After it was out she was happy and said, "This isn't such a bad day after all." Fickle, Fickle.
Me: "Sophie, how much do you think the tooth fairy is going to bring you tonight?"
Sophie: "I'm not sure but I will say that I sure did go to a lot of trouble to get this tooth out."
Wouldn't you know it but I had exactly $2 in my purse (one bill and change).

Sophie and I love this "Dear Tooth Fairy" book and in it the girl Holly writes letters to the tooth fairy and asks a bunch of questions and the tooth fairy writes her back. So, Sophie had to write her own letter last night. Thankfully, I came up with a clever (B.S.) answer. I'll have to tell Dad to make sure we get our Tooth Fairy stories straight.

Dear Tooth Fairy,
I would like to know, what is your
name? My name is Sophie. You probably already know that but I want to know
yours. And, I would also like to know what you do with the teeth. And how do
you know when somebody loses a tooth? And that is all.
From your friend,
Sophie.

Dear Sophie,
Thank you so much for your tooth! It’s
nice to see you again – I’m starting quite a collection!
My oh my you are a curious one, aren’t
you? That is a good trait to have. You can’t learn anything unless you ask
questions!
Let’s see..oh, first: my name. My name
is Annabelle. Do you like it? Sophie has always been one of MY favorite names.
We do lots of things with the teeth up
in fairy land. Sometimes we use them to build things or repair things…right now
we are working on our spring garden. Your tooth will come in very handy as a planter
for my favorite flower: the tulip.
I know when someone loses a tooth
because my wings chime. That’s why they call me Annabelle. I have itty bitty
bells on my wings that make a sound kind of like Tinker Bell. They chime when
someone loses a tooth or when I’m happy or excited; and I do get happy and excited when I have a new tooth to
bring home!
Thank you for the picture – it is very
beautiful. I am going to treasure it always.
Your friend,
Annabelle.
